Bad hair salon experience …..

Bad hair salon experience …..

Never again….

Hello! Yes I know, I had promised an article a week. Unfortunately, with the studies it was very complicated. However, I have many things to  share with you all. As the title mentions it, I unfortunately had a very bad experience in a hairdressing salon in Quebec city.

Everything began in January when I wanted to install my lace wig in order to have a little break with my hair. I normaly take care of that myself usually, but this time I wanted be spoiled a bit. I thus began to look for a hairdressing salon in Quebec. I was able to find a Senegalese hairdressing salon and I quickly booked an appointment. Before going there, I took time to stretch my hair to facilitate the task for the hairdresser and also reassure me because usually I disentangle my hair myself.

I was there on time, but I had to wait for one of the stylists. After almost one hour of  it’s was my turn. She begins to braid me and I notice tufts of hair on the ground. I do not know why but I just let her do her thing . At the end I was horrified, she caused me enormous breakage. I hold on (why didn’t I say something ?). At the end, the owner comes to install my lace wig. However she manages to put some glue on hair the wig and she took a tweezer to remove the glue… Now my wig is very damage.

The results :

  • A large part of hair removed from the lace wig
  • An important breakage of my hair
  • And I found out at the end that I was braided by a student who comes there from time to time to help
  • I was pissed

I was disgusted, I would have had to make it myself as usual. But it is not finished, I waited a little before removing my braids so that my scalp can be less stress  to avoid  additional breakage. I revomed my braids and that’s came my head:

All that came out of my head, it was in a point where I wanted to do a  second big chop. I  calmed down and I had to cut  2 inches  to avoid more damage. Followed by a protein and moisturizing treatment. In conclusion, when you go to a hair salon, if you have a something to say, just say it do not  hesitate to express yourself, because it is your head after all. For now, i am in a heathly hair regimen in order to restore my hair.

My summer hair regimen

My summer hair regimen

Sunny time…

The summer is for its peak, with holiday departures and the sun generosity this year. For my part I am on holidays since in the middle of May, hey yes!

During the summer our hair tend to grow more quickly. Actually, with the absence of low temperatures and fresh wind which accompanies it, the quantity of breakage decreases. Bye Bye heavy product and hello to the light capillary milk and oils adapted to the heat.

I use coconut and jojoba oil in my regimen a lot. Coconut oil is perfect for hair and also for skin. I would speak to you about my Skin regimen a little later.

I wash my hair twice a month. During the wash day, I apply a deep conditioner then a protein treatment two weeks later.Do not forget that after a proteinate care, it is important to follow by a moisturizer one to restore the balance. 1901957_10203622362020084_286490187_n Between the washes, I wore protective hairstyle as the Flat twist Updo about which I spoke to you here. I also use glueless laces wig, which is more practical than those we glue on. Indeed, it facilitates us to take care of our hair. I spend the day with it and in the evening I remove it to realize a capillary massage, and hydrate my hair. And finally, sleep on a silk or satin pillow.

Les Secrets de Loly ‘s 4C….

Les Secrets de Loly ‘s 4C….

Optimize hair growth….

I was finally able to test the 4c of “Les secrets de Loly”:  ” A food complement dedicated to  curly and frizzy hair. ” I had already talk about this french brand there.

Here is the ingredients:

  • Grape seed oil
  • Brewer’s yeast
  • Stinging nettle extract
  • Lithothamnium powder
  • Zinc
  • Biotin
  • Vitamin B5
  • Soya lecithin
  • pantothenic acid

Complement alimentaire

The posology is simple to respect, 2 capsules a day. They are of correct size and there is no specific smell or  taste.  It’s  dedicate for curly, frizzy and nappy hair , but I think that it can be used for all type of hair.

Their goal  is to strengthen and optimize hair and nails growth. However, it’s better to have a proper nutrition in order to see good result.

The price is rather high, 60 euros (towards 82 $) for a cure of three months. During the first two months, I saw result on my nails : they were stronger, longer and beautiful. It is really from the last month which I noticed that my hair were stronger (less hair loose)  during winter.

Unfortunately, I was not able to take pictures (oops!). However, I plan to redo a cure soon, and this time, with pictures of the progress.

You can get it here!

As for me, you will find me on Facebook here and on Tumblr there!

Stay tuned!

Nappy Anniversary….

Nappy Anniversary….

One year after….

Hey yes! One year natural. This year was rich in discovery and in learning. It is also necessary to accept your hair type and be proud of it. It is during the second year when we really discover our hair. It is really necessary to learn again everything: discover the nature of our hair, know how to take care of them, their needs and especially products suited to their maintenance without chemicals products.

Summery of the year

Here are photos which recapitulate my capillary evolution during my first year as natural.

My Big Chop…

My Big Chop…

In November….

By returning at home after my courses, I began to watch videos on You Tube.

In the same evening after working, I receive by e-mail some pictures of my sister who made her big chop. It was just amazing.

I decided to make my big chop too. Having cut my permed hair, I notice that I made some mistakes. How to remedy it? …
I decide then to cut all my hair off. Here is a picture taken after my big chop:

I felt a feeling of freedom and revival. I started all over again. My family supported me in this phase and they loved my new style!!

How was your Big Chop? Tell us your experience.
